MIAMI BEACH PAL KID TO OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALIST: TWANISHA TERRY

Twanisha “TeeTee” Terry is an elite American sprinter specializing in the 100 meters. A proud former Miami Beach PAL Police Explorer, Terry rose from local community roots to international acclaim. At just 19, she ran a blistering 10.99 seconds at the Mt. SAC Relays, becoming the joint fourth-fastest U20 woman in history. In 2018, she captured gold at the USATF U20 Championships and silver at the World U20 Championships. A standout NCAA Division I athlete, Terry went on to win gold at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France, as part of the U.S. women’s 4×100m relay team. She also earned two World Athletics Championships gold medals in 2022 and 2023 in the same category.

MIAMI BEACH PAL KID TO THE IVY LEAGUES: SCHAUGHN RODRIGUEZ

Schaughn Rodriguez, a proud Miami Beach PAL alumnus, has been awarded a full-ride scholarship to Cornell University, where he will pursue a degree in Urban Planning. A former participant in our Soccer Program, College Prep Initiative, and Mentoring Program, Schaughn exemplifies the impact of dedication, talent, and community support. He also traveled with us to Washington, D.C., broadening his perspective and passion for civic engagement. A graduate of DASH, a prestigious art magnet school, Schaughn blends creativity and purpose in everything he does. With a job already lined up in his future field, he’s well on his way to shaping stronger, more inclusive communities. We couldn’t be prouder!
